Currently trying to finish my short podcast for my university at the moment and am having trouble with copyright free music. All the music companies that I have written to asking for permission to use their songs have turned me down so am stuck as to where to get my music from. I am trying to find copyright free music but it's proving a problem. There are some sites which have public domain music but you have to pay for them and am not sure whats on their catalogues. As well as this i have been over on archive.org but am not too sure if all their music is free to use.
Does anyone know of any good sites which would provide copyright free music or know if archive.org's music is public domain? I am looking for somre high paced running music.
I'd be very wary of people charging you for free music. However, a brief google revealed this site -> http://www.mp34u.com/index.php which is right now allowing me to download a track by a well known band with previous top 40 hits, and has at no stage hinted at the need to register or pay for anything. Have an explore and by all means let everyone know if it's any use.
How about this?
Almost all free to download music is for personal use only and requires extra permission for other uses. A lot of the artists on Archive.org will willingly allow use of their music if you ask nicely though.
